Carlo Sironi

Biography

Carlo Sironi was born in Rome in 1983. At the age of 18 he began to study photography and to work on film sets, first as an assistant operator and then as an assistant director. Sofia, his first short film as director, competed at the 28th Torino Film Festival and in other international festivals. In 2010 the documentary “Il filo di Arianna” was presented at the 19th Arcipelago International Festival.

In 2011 he directed music video both for indie artists and majors as Warner Chapel Music. In the same period, he started directing documentaries and TV Series. Cargo, his second fictional short film, competed at the 69th Venice Film Festival, at the 41st Huesca Film Festival, nominated as best Italian short film at David di Donatello Award in 2013 and won the 10th Festival Du Court Metrage Mediterraneen du Tanger.

In 2013 he got selected and participated at the 11th edition of Berlinale Talent Campus.

Right now, he’s working on the script of his first feature film with Kino Produzioni, Sole, already selected for the Script Station of the 12th edition of Berlinale Talents and at the Eave Training Producers Network.
