What causes a father to be absent and what are the consequences of his absence? Director Tessa Pope confronts her past and deals with the complex relationship with her father. Archive material and interviews with the whole family bring all the pieces of the puzzle together, resulting in a story about family, love, hope and losses.

Tessa Louise Pope

Biography

Being a curious girl from a young age, Tessa was always fascinated by the way humans interact with each other. Later on, as a daughter of a psychologist and a filmmaker, she found the ultimate combination in the profession of documentary filmmaking. Her analyzing, psychological way of thinking helps her to portray her often colorful characters.  Her work focuses on inter-human relationships and their incomprehensible complexity. She adds a touch of humor to relive the sometimes painful process.
