Stefanie Kolk

Biography
Stefanie graduated as a biophysicist and lived in Japan for two years before applying to the Directing Fiction course at the Netherlands Film Academy with her short Ten Days Before Spring (2011), which premiered in cinemas in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, Japan and screened at the Debut Competition at the Netherlands Film Festival, Nippon Connection Film Festival in Frankfurt and the International Women’s Film Festival in South-Korea. She recently completed short film Handen (2016) about a woman who undergoes a double hand transplant surgery, and graduates this year with Clan (2016). Stefanie is fascinated by cinema that employs minimalist storytelling, the visual exploration of social dynamics and the role of science in the lives of ordinary people.
