Molotov Man is a short drama film. This movie is an independent fictional story inspired by the events concerning 'the Molotov Man' in Haelen, Holland 2012.

For Dutch man Bert de Ruiter his living environments are like a war zone. He feels like he has to be on guard 24/7. As a result he always carries a weapon around with him. Never ending threats and harassment of his neighbors creates many a sleepless nights for not only our protagonist/main character but also his family.

What is the mindset of a man that has been trying to survive an environment that has been tormenting and opposing him every step of the way year after year. This movie tells the story of a man who has been living in constant mental fear and anguish. Whoms voice and out cries has been ignored and is let down time and time again until the days comes and he suffers a mental break down...

Joris Weerts

Biography

Director Joris Weerts grew up in a small village in the south of the Netherlands. After a short career in IT, Joris Weerts decided to pursue his love for cinema and storytelling. Having a background in editing and music, It is his aim to create atmospheric pieces reflecting on the human condition.

Weerts emphasizes on realistic performance and subtle symbolic subtext in his storytelling  to deliver a nuanced experience.

Just graduated  from school, Joris already recieved a CANNES selection for writing and directing the virtual reality short: AMANI. A short drama which offers a glimpse into the life of a houseslave in Kenya.
