Some films are shorter than others

Some Shorts is started by Wouter Jansen in 2013. Through his years of experience at film festivals he noticed that there are a lot of strong films being made, but that directors and producers struggle with getting them shown internationally or knowing where to start with sending them to festivals. With Some Shorts he tries to achieve the goal to make films more visible.

We try to achieve this by helping with the development of a festival strategy, carrying out all the submissions to the festivals and dealing with the necessary film transport and information requests when a film gets selected. A good overview of the festivals is essential for this.

The catalog of Some Shorts includes a limited selection of strong and daring films, and we try to follow a director throughout his career. This has lead to many great selections and awards over the last few years: Cannes, Berlinale, Locarno, Visions du Réel, San Sebastian, SXSW, IDFA, DokLeipzig, IndieLisboa, TIFF, IFFR, CPH:DOX and Palm Springs Shorts Fest are among the more than 800 film festival selections and more than 180 awards throughout the first years.

You can always get in touch about a possible collaboration, but we only work with films that we personally like and think have a big potential on the international field.
